Street Clowns and Past Lives, 2016

Curious about the amalgamation of culture, place, and the body in relation to performance, this series involved improvisations in public spaces with dancer Ellen Cho. With a play of pedestrian and ritualized movement in malls, apartment rooftops, dressing rooms, and parks, movement language included Korean folk dance, miming, and everyday gestures against scenes of consumerism and urban development.
